Therapy for Increasing Emotional Awareness in New York
Emotions shape how we move through the world, how we relate to others, make decisions, and make sense of ourselves. But many of us were never taught how to recognise, feel, or trust our emotions. You might find yourself overwhelmed by feeling too much, or unsure how to access what you’re feeling at all. Emotional awareness isn’t about control, it’s about curiosity, and creating space to feel more fully human.
At Modern Holistic Psychiatry, I offer care that helps you build a more connected and trusting relationship with your emotional life. Whether you’re working through anxiety, emotional shutdown, reactivity, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, this is a space where your emotions are met with respect.
A Space for Integration, Insight, and Emotional Clarity
My approach is shaped by psychoanalytic thinking, trauma-informed care, and a background in feminist philosophy and global culture. I’ve worked with people who feel out of sync with themselves, people who were told their emotions were too much, too inconvenient, or not welcome. Emotional patterns often carry history, meaning, and protective wisdom. They’re worth understanding.
In our sessions, we might explore how your emotional life intersects with your past, your relationships, and your nervous system. Our work can include psychotherapy, mindfulness, somatic awareness, or medication when appropriate. The goal isn’t to manage your emotions, it’s to feel more connected to them, and to yourself.
