Mental Health Support for Increasing Body Awareness
For many, the body can feel distant, unreliable, or hard to trust. You might notice tension, numbness, or pain without a clear explanation, or feel out of sync with yourself in ways that are hard to name. Body awareness isn’t about gaining control. It’s about building a relationship, one that’s patient, curious, and grounded in care.
In my practice, I often work with people who feel disconnected from their bodies, or who have found that talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough. We begin gently, without pressure for insight or change. Somatic work can open new ways of feeling and understanding what your body has been holding.
A Space to Explore and Reconnect
Some people come to this work after years of moving through life in survival mode. Others arrive with a quiet wish to feel more present—less guarded, less reactive, more at home in their own skin. I draw from a range of approaches, including somatic therapy techniques, trauma-informed psychotherapy, mindfulness, and my background in psychoanalytic and feminist thought. This work isn’t about fixing your body, it’s about listening to it.
Sessions unfold at your pace. We might focus on sensation, regulation, personal narrative, or simply staying with what shows up. Our work is collaborative, and shaped by what feels useful to you in the moment. However we begin, the goal is to support a steadier, more compassionate connection between you and your body.
