Childhood Trauma
When childhood asked too much of you, the effects can echo long into adulthood. This is a space to meet those early experiences with care, and begin to understand how they shaped the ways you relate, protect, and show up in the world.

Mental Health Support For Childhood Trauma
You may have grown up managing too much, too soon. The strategies that helped you survive, numbing, people-pleasing, and disconnecting, were intelligent responses to a world that wasn’t safe or reliable. But what once protected you may now be getting in the way of connection, rest, or a sense of self that feels whole.
At Modern Holistic Psychiatry, childhood trauma in adults is met with warmth, nuance, and respect for the complexity of your history. Whether you’ve named your experience as trauma or not, you don’t need to justify why you’re struggling now. This is a space to begin untangling what’s yours to carry—and what never was.
A Gentle, Trauma-Informed Approach to Trauma from Childhood
The symptoms of childhood trauma in adulthood don’t always look like what people expect. You might find yourself in cycles of burnout, hyper-independence, emotional reactivity, or chronic shame. You might feel distant from your body, or like closeness with others comes at too high a cost. Healing childhood trauma doesn’t come from pushing harder. it begins with being met differently.
I offer childhood trauma therapy that integrates talk therapy, somatic work, and, when needed, psychiatric care. This means we might spend time with your story, but we’ll also pay attention to what your body holds, what your relationships reflect, and what your system needs to feel safe enough to change. Together, we explore how early experiences shaped you, and how, with time and care, they don’t have to define you.
